Not Another State of Marketing

This project began like every other State of Marketing does- with a data set and a gate.

Our goal was acquisition, but we started to if this content would be useful to our customers and partners too. Could we share it with them in a delightful way? The N.A.S.O.M extension was born.

It was late in 2019 when we started putting together a print package that featured the report, printed in full, including 10 articles, offering insights an predictions based on data from over 3,400 marketers across the globe. (We snuck in a few art pieces, ads for HubSpot products and events too.) Included in the package were 5 postcards, a sticker sheet, and a letter from the CTO and Co-Founder Dharmesh Shah.

By the time we were ready to send it all out, Covid was shutting down our customers’ and partners’ offices. It didn’t feel like the right time to send anything, especially since the world was changing so rapidly and we didn’t know what the next week would bring.
